This wednesday evening was spent watching a reality show called Dirty Dancing on TV. The premise of this show is that 6 couples performing diverse dance routines compete to win a dance contract. There were salsa, tango, cha-cha, hip-hop, pop and ballroom dancing on stage.The male is a professional dancer who has to choose his partner out of three contestants. In the hip-hop category, the ladies had to put up with the obnoxiousness of this guy, who was self absorbed, pungent and racist. One of the contestants actually wanted to leave the show but held on for the love of the dance. When she actually won, she told him onstage that training with him made her lose respect for the dance and walked out. Despite losing out on a chance in the finals, she sure won a lot of respect.
